Shortly after the news of the kidnapping of the Chibok girls gained local and international news attention, I began looking into ways to help. This eventually led to my first trip to Maiduguri in April 2018, where I decided to create a media project around the stories of survivors of the ongoing insurgency.

The media project can be experienced through this cross-media story.

It also includes a short film, “Life After Terror”, completed in 2020, about three women who are survivors of the insurgency. The film is supported by a grant from National Geographic Society.
